Prague Institute

International Studies

The location of the Prague Institute is of direct benefit to students of political science as Prague lies at the crossroads between West and East. Having transitioned from a monarchy to Nazi control prior to World War II, followed by communist domination and subsequent demise of that regime with the Velvet Revolution of 1989, Prague offers a rich history for students. Visits to the Prague Castle, site of the current government, as well as the Museum of Communism offer critical views of the political evolution of the Czech Republic. Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty is also located in Prague and will be of particular interest to American students as a U.S. Congress funded initiative.

This program will also build relationships with two universities located in Prague: Charles University and the University of Economics, as well the Europeum: Institute for European Policy, a think tank that focuses on questions of European integration.

Two courses are offered in an intense 3-week session.
