Digital Photography

There could be no better place than Prague in which to learn and practice Digital Photography. One of the most beautiful cities in the world with a rich cultural history and tradition, Prague offers venues from stunning scenic vistas to intimate, cozy cafes. Architectural details and intriguing characters who inhabit and visit the city offer further material for the photographer. The Spring semester begins in winter and ends in spring. One can take in the light and shadow play of a winter’s day, and the fragrant blooming of orchards in the parks in the spring.

Photography is the closest medium we have to a universal means of communication.  Because photographs can be realistic, and therefore believable, they can inform, educate and influence. A photograph can document a moment in history, or capture an instant of joy, fear, or surprise. Digital photography also allows us to interpret or transcend our reality creating new dimensions to the way we look at our environment.

Using the context of the medieval city of Prague and the countryside, students will document and manipulate in creating their own interpretations.

A two-week workshop with award winning filmmaker and photographer Robert Vano is included.
