Most airlines allow you to book your ticket online. There are many discount travel websites, such as kayak and ebookers, that allow you to search through all available flights and get price ranges at a glance. Students can either fly directly to Prague, or to neighbouring European countries, such as Germany.
Past students have found that the airfare tends to drop when flying into, for example, Frankfurt or Munich. They complete the last leg of the journey to Prague with either a low cost airline, or by train or bus. If you do this, however, be aware that if you miss the second flight or train, you will lose the connection and will need to purchase a whole new ticket. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to catch the continuing flight or train. Also, discount airlines only allow small amounts of baggage for an additional cost. If you are thinking of continuing your overseas flight via a discount airline, make sure you know the baggage limits of that airline and that you do not exceed it; otherwise you may end up getting charged exorbitant baggage fees.
