Natural Resources | Professor
Professor of Natural Resources, Larry has also served as the university’s provost and as dean of the College of Natural Resources. He has been involved in national and international conservation efforts throughout his career. In 1999, while on the faculty at Penn State, he conceived and organized a month-long series of educational and cultural events in recognition of the earth’s human population passing 6 billion. He serves on the Board of Directors of the National Council for Science and the Environment. Among more than 100 publications, he is co-author of “Ecosystem Management,” an innovative textbook published in 2002. He co-chaired the First World Fisheries Congress, May 1992, in Athens, Greece. He received two Certificates of Teaching Excellence and The Diggs Teaching Scholar Award from Virginia Tech. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Fisheries Research Biologists.
