This course will cover Fashion and Costume Design through early centuries to current times, focusing on how social, ethnical and environmental influences shape it. Special attention will be paid to European and Czech regions. The students will learn the roots of contemporary fashion, understanding famous contemporary designers and their inspirations. The course experience will be enhanced by visual documentation from fashion shows, period movies, theater or opera performances and visits to museum collections.
