Beekeeping | Professor
Born in Prague in 1955 as the oldest son of a veterinary doctor, Dalibor later graduated in 1980 from the Agriculture University in Prague. Together with his wife Jana, Dalibor decided to move to the Bee Research Institute at Dol near Libčice na Vltavou where he lives and works still. He started his career as a lab assistant and has advanced to Chief of Research in his department, as well as head of the accredited testing laboratory. He has acquired widespread knowledge and practical experience in various relevant aspects of beekeeping, honeybee genetics and quality management of bee's products. His special skill is artificial insemination of queen bees. Since 1995, Dalibor has taught Beekeeping at the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague, as well as Agrobiology; Food and Natural Resources; Forestry; and Wildlife and Wood Sciences. Dalibor is married, has 3 adult children and one granddaughter. His hobbies are cooking, classical music, and traditional jazz; he sings actively in rhe mixed vocal ensemble Scandula.
