Lucie Tučná‘s career started after completing her studies at Charles University in Prague in 1978, where her field of study was English and Japanology. Lucie became a fan of fashion and textile design and a variety of techniques in surface design. She decided to attend a private school  of textile art techniques  specializing in blueprint (in Czech-Modrotisk). Since then she has been designing fashion and working in historic fabric conservation studios. Lucie has presented her works at exhibitions in the Czech Republic, France, and Belgium from 1981-2006. In 1997, she established together with Jiřina Pivoňková the Fashion and Textile Gallery, Original Moda—including a shop focused on textile art, fashion, tapestry and other art and craft products. She co-teaches with Jiřina Pivoňková and Vita Plume.
