Jiřina Pivoňková, fashion designer and world-acclaimed lacemaker and designer, attended The College of Textile Crafts (1979-1983). The College dates back to 1767, as the first lace school in Prague. Emílie Paličková, renowned lacemaker also graduated and taught at this college. Jiřina‘s work focuses on lace design, knitting, fashion design and textile design. She has had many exhibitions dedicated to lace around the world including Belgium, Australia, Portugal, Spain, and the Czech Republic). In 1997, Jiřina together with Lucie Tučná founded the Fashion and Textile Gallery, Original Moda—including a shop focused on textile art, fashion, tapestry and other art and craft products. She co-teaches with Lucie Tučná and Vita Plume.
