Miroslav is a studio photographer whose specialty is in Czech artistic and industrial glass. He is a theoretician and historian of photography, and in recent years focused on questions of visual culture. He's been teaching photography since 1978 and during the 1990's was Head of the Still Photography Department at the Film Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU) in Prague. From 1999-2003 he was appointed Artist-In-Residence at the School of Communication at the American University, Washington, DC. Since 2006 he has lead (in collaboration with MgA. Marian Beneš) his own Studio of Applied and Advertising Photography at the School of Art and Design (FUD), J. E. Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem. In addition to teaching at the Prague Institute, he also teaches at the Private School of Art and Advertising–Orange Factory, in Prague.
